Current Vacancies for Trustees
The Friends can have a maximum number of 12 trustees.
There are currently vacancies for up to three new trustees. We are looking for help to develop a social media presence and to help with planning and managing events for members.
We hold five Trustee meetings a year, plus the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Most meetings are held online via Zoom, but two meetings are in person at The National Archives at Kew.
The existing group of trustees are a friendly and diverse group and welcome new additions.
We currently have about 600 members whose subscriptions, along with donations and other fund raising, help us to fund projects to make material in The National Archives more widely accessible.
What we do
Over the years the Friends of The National Archives have funded numerous projects involving:
- Conservation, digitisation, cataloguing and indexing of documents and other records held at The National Archives
- Education and Outreach projects
- Family days
- Events and conferences
- Specialist equipment
- Films, radio, art and drama that use original documents from The National Archives collections.
