VOTING TO APPROVE THE INCORPORATION OF THE CHARITY

Although the Special General Meeting on 31 March 2020 has been cancelled, the voting process continues up to and including 31 March. Members are urged to complete and return their ballot papers and membership transfer forms by 31 March.

If you have not already done so, please either scan and return to sgm@ftna.org.uk or by post to The National Archives at Kew.* Although we cannot access mail at TNA for the foreseeable future your vote will remain valid and will be included in the final count.

Given the current extraordinary circumstances we will not seek to arrange another SGM. Instead, we will wait until the AGM to validate and announce the result. However, the trustees have decided to postpone the AGM on 16 June and defer it until 1 December 2020, when it is hoped the situation will have settled down and it will be safe to resume normal activity.

Our May Magna magazine: This will now be available in pdf format and there will be a delay in the physical distribution of Magna until later in the year, when appropriate. The digital copy will be available for download in the members’ area of this website in early May, unless changing circumstances delay its completion.

In the meantime, on behalf of the trustees, I hope all members remain safe and well. I recall some sound government advice from over seventy-five years ago when the nation at that time also faced unprecedented times – ‘keep calm and carry on.’
