If your thoughts are turning to new year plans now that the seasonal festivities are over, why not book yourself a place at our exciting “Signed and Sealed” event, being held jointly with Nottingham Archives and the Friends of Nottingham Archives on the afternoon of Saturday 23 February in central Nottingham?  Paul Dryburgh from The National Archives will be talking on the subject of seals, the rituals associated with them, and their iconography. Ruth Imeson from Nottingham Archives will be exploring signatures, the reasons for their existence on documents, and the different styles associated with them. There will also be a chaired discussion and a document display, and the whole event will draw on archival holdings both from Kew and Nottingham. The event flyer above gives more details, and tickets can be purchased online at  https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/signed-and-sealed-tickets-52443888081.
